Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, a viral message is doing the rounds on social media that claims that the government is going to ‘shut down the internet’ to avoid panic.

During our research on this news, we found a tweet from the Press Information Bureau (PIB), where they have explicitly clarified that this information is untrue and that the government has not passed any such orders.  The tweet is attached below.
