India’s The Night Manager, starring powerhouses Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sobhita Dhulipala, has been nominated for Best Drama Series at the 2024 International Emmy Awards. This Indian adaptation of the famous British series is the country’s sole representative across 14 categories, making it a monumental feat for the creators and the cast.
Directed by Sandeep Modi, the show is a high-stakes thriller about a night manager who becomes entangled in the dangerous world of an arms dealer.
The nominations for the 2024 International Emmys were announced on September 19 in New York City by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Night Manager will compete against other globally acclaimed dramas like Australia’s The Newsreader – Season 2, France’s Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God), and Argentina’s El EspÃa Arrepentido – Season 2. In total, 56 nominees from 21 countries were recognised this year, adding to the excitement for the November 25 award ceremony in New York City.
The Night Manager tells the thrilling tale of an arms dealer (Kapoor) and a hotel night manager (Aditya Roy Kapur) who finds himself drawn into a dangerous espionage mission.
The show also features standout performances from Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome, Ravi Behl, and Saswata Chatterjee. This Indian adaptation adds a fresh twist to the original British series while staying true to the high-octane action and suspense that made the original a global success.
