New Delhi: In a tragic incident, two Indian students pursuing their Master’s degree at Dundee University drowned while hiking with four friends at a popular tourist spot in Scotland. The bodies of the two men, identified as Jitendranath Karuturi, 26, and Chanhakya Bolisetti, 22, were recovered by rescue personnel from the water near the Linn of Tumme on Wednesday night.

The Linn of Tumme, located north of Pitlochry, is where two rivers converge. According to a police official, the two students were washed away without any apparent unusual circumstances surrounding the incident.

The post-mortem examinations for the deceased students are scheduled to be conducted on Friday. Following the completion of the post-mortem, arrangements will be made to repatriate their bodies to India.

An official from the Indian High Commission in London confirmed that the bodies of the two students were found downstream. “”The families of both students have been contacted by the Indian Consulate General, and a consular representative has met a student who resides in the UK.
