New York: In a tragic accident, a staff member working at a US airport on December 31 after reportedly being sucked into a plane’s engine.
According to a New York Post report, the worker was sucked into the Embraer 170’s engine at about 3pm at the Montgomery Regional Airport.
The report further added that the plane was parked with one of the engines on during the time of the accident.
Wade Davis, Executive Director at the Airport added that “We are saddened to hear about the tragic loss of a team member of the AA/Piedmont Airlines.” He further added that “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time,”.
The American Airlines in a statement to the New York Post added that “We are focused on ensuring that all involved have the support they need during this difficult time,”.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched a probe to look into the accident.
