In a major development, the United States deported fugitive gangster Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of incarcerated gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, on Tuesday. The move paves the way for his long-awaited return to India, where he faces a stack of criminal charges ranging from targeted killings to high-voltage attacks linked to the Bishnoi syndicate.
The development was confirmed by Zeeshan Siddique, son of slain Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. The US Department of Homeland Security informed the family that Anmol had been removed from American soil as of November 18.
“We are registered as the victim’s family, we receive direct updates from US authorities. We were informed that Anmol Bishnoi has been removed from the United States as of November 18,” Zeeshan said.

The deportation marks a crucial turning point in the murder investigation of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside Zeeshan’s Bandra office on October 12, 2024. Mumbai Police have alleged that Anmol was not just an accessory but the principal strategist behind the killing.
According to the Crime Branch’s extensive chargesheet, which names 26 arrested accused, Bishnoi oversaw the plot from abroad, directing foot soldiers and intermediaries as part of a broader effort to reinforce the Bishnoi gang’s supremacy.
Bishnoi’s name has appeared repeatedly across major case files over the past two years. In April 2024, gunmen opened fire outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home, an attack police say was coordinated by Anmol through encrypted messaging platforms. MCOCA chargesheets describe him as the overseas handler who issued operational orders.
