New Delhi: Ahead of the much-anticipated release of his upcoming film The Diplomat, Bollywood actor John Abraham met External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar in the national capital on Thursday. The meeting, which took place just a day before the film’s release on March 14, saw the two engage in a discussion about the movie and a range of other topics.
Jaishankar took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share glimpses from their interaction. Along with a series of pictures, he wrote, “An interesting conversation with John Abraham on his new movie The Diplomat, as well as on football, the Northeast, and our respective worlds.”

Responding to the minister’s post, John expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, calling the meeting an “honour.” He wrote, “Was a pleasure and honour to meet a man who I so intently follow. We discussed diplomacy, the Northeast, and football amongst many other things. Truly an honour, Sir!”

Meanwhile, the actor is actively promoting The Diplomat, which was initially slated for release on March 7 but was later pushed to March 14 to coincide with the Holi weekend. The film, inspired by real-life events, is produced by Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar (T-Series), John Abraham (JA Entertainment), Wakaoo Films, and Fortune Pictures/Seeta Films.
With The Diplomat generating buzz for its gripping narrative and John’s portrayal of a high-stakes diplomatic mission, the meeting with Jaishankar has further piqued fans curiosity about the film’s themes of international relations and negotiation.
