What is Secret Mountain?
Launched on February 14, 2024, with a 4-minute-35-second YouTube video titled “Introducing the Secret Mountain,” the project introduces Luna, a character navigating a mystical metaverse world of music and culture. Built on Hedera’s distributed ledger, it features a “Meta Band” of digital avatars that blend diverse musical styles from India, Ireland, and Africa. Rahman emphasises AI as a tool to enhance, not replace, human creativity, according to media reports.

Empowering Indian Creators
Rahman and Altman aim to inspire Indian youth to leverage AI for creative solutions. Moneycontrol reports their vision to address generational challenges through AI tools, fostering innovation in music and storytelling. The project’s global band concept seeks to transcend borders, uniting artists in a virtual platform.

Why It Matters
Secret Mountain merges Rahman’s musical genius with Altman’s AI expertise, creating a metaverse where technology amplifies art. Rahman’s ongoing work with Hans Zimmer on the Ramayana showcases his boundary-pushing spirit, making this collaboration a beacon for AI’s role in the creative industries.

Looking Ahead
As Storyboard18 notes, Secret Mountain promises an immersive experience that blends AI, music, and global folklore. With Rahman’s belief that “the human element remains irreplaceable,” the project could reshape how Indian creators engage with technology, setting a new standard for artistic innovation in 2025.
