Kevan Parekh, an engineer of Indian origin, is now Apple Inc.’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Parekh will assume the role on January 1, 2025, succeeding Luca Maestri, who is reportedly moving to Corporate Services.
CFO Maestri will transition from his role to lead the Corporate Services teams, including information systems and technology, information security, and real estate and development, reporting to Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Who is Kevan Parekh?
The 52-year-old earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and completed an MBA at the University of Chicago.
According to reports, Parekh held senior leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and General Motors before Apple.
At Thomson Reuters, he served in various senior leadership roles, including Vice President of Finance and Corporate Treasurer.
At General Motors, he was the Director of Business Development in the New York office and the Regional Treasurer in Zurich, Europe.
Parekh has been working with the tech giant for more than 10 years. As Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, he oversees several important functions, including Financial Planning, Investor Relations, and Market Research. He is believed to report directly to CEO Tim Cook.
His previous role involved leading finance for Apple’s Worldwide Sales, Retail, and Marketing, further highlighting his extensive knowledge of the company’s operations.
