A study shows that the longer you spend time with your parents, the longer you live

Date:

After a particular age, we avoid our parents. We want freedom and that’s why we want to stay separately. We want our own house and car, and we want to manage our life all by ourselves. We only remember our family when we cannot deal with the mishappenings of life. However, a scientific study shows that the longer you spend time with your parents, the longer you live.According to a study by the researchers at the University of California, loneliness plays a larger part in the decline of a person rather than old age.
The study was conducted on 1600 adults with an average age of 71 and found that the lonely people die earlier. About 23% lonely participants died within six years of the study, against 14% of those with an ample companionship.

The social circle becomes smaller as one grows older. Friendships that have been lasted for decades get nullified as their friends retire, get ill or pass away. A professor of human development at Virginia Tech, Rosemary Blieszner, says that the older generation holds greater values in relationships and friendships than their children and grandchildren.
