As Bihar gears up for its assembly elections scheduled in two phases on November 6 and 11, controversies over the voters’ list and protests against electronic voting machines (EVMs) have been making headlines. Amid this atmosphere, a video claiming to show a “Gen Z protest” from Bihar demanding the abolition of EVMs and the return of ballot papers is widely circulating on social media. The footage shows a crowd carrying torches and posters with slogans such as “Remove EVM”.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post and found the claims to be false.
On closer inspection, several inconsistencies are visible in the viral video. The lighting and movements of the participants appear unnatural… the slogans, though meant to be in English, contain grammatical and spelling errors. In one frame, the word “EVM” appears with a line drawn above it as if written in Hindi script. The torches being carried also appear unrealistic — the flames seem to float above or burn directly in people’s palms. In another part of the clip, the text on a protest poster appears mirrored.
To verify the authenticity of the video, screenshots were analysed using Was It AI and Hive Moderation tools. Both tools confirmed that the visuals were AI-generated.

A Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes revealed that the same video was posted on Facebook by Aditya Prakash Sharma, the Right to Recall Party candidate from Rajasthan, on October 1, 2025. His page contains several similar AI-generated protest videos. A comparable clip was also posted on an Instagram account — bodhisattva_111 —with a caption, AI, confirming that the viral footage is digitally created, rejecting any real protest in Bihar.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show “Gen Z protest” from Bihar demanding the abolition of EVMs, is false.
