A picture of the iconic Statue of Unity is doing the rounds on social media in which it can be seen defaced with text on it.
The caption with the picture reads: “Kon hai ye log … kahaa se aate hai” (English translation: Who are these people.. where do they come from?)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture, and found it to be fake.
On cropping and putting the single element of the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found an article in OneIndia, dated October 24, 2018, carrying the original image.
The picture was taken by newswire PTI.
In the above FAKE vs REAL collage, it is clear that the original picture was manipulated using the photo-editing software to create the viral image.
Hence, it can be concluded that the picture in question is morphed.
