While sharing this video, people on social media claimed that it shows the royal family of the United Kingdom welcoming PM Modi.
People also claimed that he was the first Prime Minister of India who was invited by the royal family of the UK.
A Facebook user shared this video and wrote, “यह पहली बार है कि यूनाइटेड किंगडम की सरकार ने हमारे देश के प्रधान मंत्री को अपने घर भोज के लिए उनके साथ बैठने के लिए आमंत्रित किया था और उनके अच्छे व्यक्तित्व के लिए उन्हें जो सम्मान मिला, जब शाही परिवार ने उनके साथ फोटो भी खिंचवाया । ये न सिर्फ प्रधानमंत्री मोदीजी बल्कि पूरे देश के लिए गौरव की बात है”

Running the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we came across the still of viral video in a tweet by PM Modi on May 04, 2022. The caption of the post reads, “Met Her Majesty, the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II in Copenhagen.”

We then found the same video on the YouTube channel of news agency ANI posted on May 04, 2022. The title of the report reads, “PM Modi meets Queen of Denmark Margrethe II in Copenhagen.” According to it, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 03. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi interacted with the Indian community after delegation-level talks between India and Denmark. It suggests that the viral video is from Denmark and not the UK.
It is to be noted that PM Modi visited Britain where he met the late Queen Elizabeth II back in 2015 and 2018.

We then investigated the claim that PM Modi was the first Indian Prime Minister to be invited by the UK’s royal family. However, we found evidence on the official website of Britain’s Royal Collection Trust that shows Prime Minister Indira Gandhi interacting with Queen Elizabeth II, which contradicts the claim. The description of the image reads, “Photograph of HM Queen Elizabeth II (b. 1926) talking to Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi (1917-1984) during the reception held at Buckingham Palace for the Commonwealth Prime Ministers. HM The Queen wears the Royal Family Orders of George V and George VI and the Garter Star.”
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video is from May 2022 when PM Modi met the royal family of Denmark. Also, he is not the first Indian Prime Minister Prime Minister to be invited by the UK’s royal family.
