A video of a collision between two trains is doing the rounds on social media, claiming that it’s the train accident in Liluah, West Bengal. On May 28, an empty local train derailed at Liluah station in Howrah district, however, there were no reports of any injury.
In the backdrop of the above incident, Facebook users were sharing the video with the caption: আজ সকালে লিলুয়া র ঘটনা. (English translation: Lilua incident this morning.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found the video is not related to the incident in Liluah, West Bengal.
Running the viral video keyframes through a Reverse Image Search, the NM team identified the same video on the YouTube channel of Outlook Magazine, dated November 12, 2019, with a title: Moment When Two Trains Collided At Hyderabad’s Kacheguda Railway Station.
India TV News also shared the CCTV footage on November 11, 2019, with a description: “At least 12 people were injured after two trains collided with each other near Hyderabad’s Kacheguda railway station this morning. The injured have been shifted to the Osmania General Hospital; two of the injured have already been discharged. No deaths have been reported so far. The driver of one of the trains has been trapped amid the wreckage.”
According to a report by The Economic Times, two slow-moving trains — Lingampalli-Falaknuma multi-modal transport system (MMTS) and the Kurnool-Secunderabad Hundry Intercity Express (17028) — collided at Kacheguda railway station on November 11, 2019. The accident left more than 12 people injured.
Thus, it is clear that the video in circulation is from Hyderabad, and NOT related to the incident at Liluah station in Howrah district, West Bengal.
