New Delhi: US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker met Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in New Delhi on Tuesday as both sides moved to operationalize the strategic vision outlined by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this year, the US Embassy said.
The discussions focused on converting the commitments made during the leaders’ February meeting into measurable outcomes aimed at strengthening US security, generating jobs and boosting competitiveness, while aligning with India’s long-term national priorities, according to a US Embassy.
Hooker underscored Washington’s intent to expand collaboration across key sectors, including defense, energy, advanced technology, space and resilient, trusted supply chains. She highlighted that closer U.S.-India cooperation not only drives American innovation but also supports India’s emergence as a global technology powerhouse.
The under secretary also thanked Misri for his continued engagement, noting that sustained partnership between the two countries remains central to advancing shared objectives that deliver concrete benefits for the American people while complementing India’s development and strategic goals, the spokesperson said.
