After news broke of an alleged assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk stirred controversy by questioning why similar threats are not being directed at President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Responding to a post on X that questioned, “Why they want to kill Donald Trump?”, Musk replied, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”

But when the NewsMobile team checked his post on X, they could not find the tweet. All the other media organisations that had run the story earlier in the day and embedded his post now seem to be “Not Found”.
The incident occurred in Florida on Sunday, September 15, where the FBI reported an alleged attempt on Trump’s life. However, it was confirmed that Trump was unharmed and safe.
According to the US Secret Service, one or more agents fired at a gunman spotted near the boundary of Trump’s golf course. They recovered a rifle resembling an “AK-47 style” weapon with a scope, as well as a GoPro camera from the scene.
Authorities identified the suspect as Ryan Wesley Routh, though it remains unclear if he fired his weapon at Trump. The FBI has confirmed that it is “investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump.”
