The FBI’s Boston division announced that it has dismantled a major India-based call center operation accused of running tech support scams targeting elderly victims in the United States and other countries.
According to investigators, the scam network cheated hundreds of senior citizens out of millions of dollars. The FBI said two senior executives from the US were also involved in the operation and have now pleaded guilty in the case. Investigators alleged that the executives enabled the fraud by ignoring the large-scale scam activities.

Sharing details of the case, the FBI stated, “These people defrauded hundreds of elderly Americans out of millions using tech support scams. This FBI dismantled them.”
The agency also highlighted the growing threat of scams targeting senior citizens, calling it an important but often overlooked issue. The FBI urged people to stay alert, check on elderly family members, and report suspicious activity
