Meet the new ‘Fashionista’, America’s first lady Melania Trump, former model who married Donald Trump in January 2005. She was born in Yugoslavia and became a permanent resident of United States in 2001 and a citizen in 2006.
She was born in Southeastern Slovenia and was a member of Slovenian Communist Party.
She began her modelling career at 16, she was a runner up in 1992 ‘Look Of The Year’ contest held in Ljubljana. After moving to New York City in 1996, Melania met Trump at a fashion week party in September 1998. She got engaged to Donald Trump in 2004 and then got married in January, 2005.
“I encouraged him because I know what he will do and what he can do for America. He loves the American people and he wants to help them.” Melania Trump said in 2015 when asked about Donald Trump.
Donald Trump won the US Presidential elections on Wednesday, Melania Trump will assume the role of First Lady of the United States on January 20, 2017.
