Pakistan boxer Qudratullah has reportedly gone missing after completing his campaign at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, putting the Pakistan Boxing Federation under fresh scrutiny. According to sources, the boxer left the team’s hotel after his event and has not been located since.
The incident has raised questions over the federation’s handling of athletes during overseas competitions, especially after it emerged that Qudratullah’s passport was still with the team manager. A source said, “The interesting thing is Qudratullah disappeared despite his passport being with the team manager.”
The disappearance is now under investigation, with concerns over how the boxer managed to leave despite strict travel protocols. Similar incidents were reported during the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2024 World Olympic Boxing Qualifiers, adding to concerns about the federation’s administrative oversight.
Pakistan’s boxing campaign in Glasgow ended with just one medal, as Fatima Zahra secured a bronze in the women’s 60kg category, becoming the country’s first female boxer to win a Commonwealth Games medal.
