US President Donald Trump revealed that the US military has successfully destroyed a suspected drug-carrying submarine attempting to reach American shores through a notorious narco-trafficking route in the Caribbean.
Sharing the news on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “It was my great honour to destroy a very large drug-carrying submarine navigating towards the United States.” According to US intelligence, the vessel was reportedly packed with large quantities of fentanyl and other illegal narcotics, a deadly shipment that Trump claimed could have led to the deaths of up to 25,000 Americans.
Trump further said that two of the individuals aboard were killed during the strike, while two other citizens of Ecuador and Colombia were captured and will be extradited to their home countries for prosecution.
Reassuring Americans, Trump confirmed that no US personnel were injured during the operation. He vowed that under his leadership, the US would not tolerate narcoterrorism “by land or by sea.”
A video released by the Pentagon on X showed the tense moment of the strike, capturing black-and-white footage of the semi-submersible vessel before multiple explosions destroyed it mid-sea.
