Sri Lanka’s Mannar Court has extended the remand of five Indian fishermen until June 19.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised his objections over the arrest of five fishermen from the state and termed the arrest as ‘unfortunate’.

He said that this act would lead to disruption in the diplomatic bids to resolve the issues pertaining to fishing between the two countries.
