Mumbai: Actor Ranveer Singh landed into trouble as FIR has been registered against him after he posted and publicized his naked photoshoot.
Two applications were filed with Mumbai Police on Monday seeking the registration FIR for “hurting sentiments of women” through the actor’s nude photographs on social media.
According to Mumbai Police, the complaint was submitted at the Chembur Police Station by an office-bearer of an NGO based in Mumbai. The actor, according to the NGO office-bearer, has offended women’s modesty and hurt their sentiments in general through his photographs.
FIR has been registered under IPC section 292 (dealing with obscene materials falls within this exception thereby addressing the issue of public decency and morality), 293 (obscene objects to young person), and 509 (Word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) including 67 (A) of the Information Technology act.
