Sydney: England’s miserable tour of Australia came to an end following their 84-run defeat by the hosts in the third and final Twenty20 international at Sydney, leading to Australia to cleansweep the T20 series.
Tallying up the losses that England suffered and subtracting their sole victory, it appears Australia was superior by 1075 runs and 30 wickets this winter on their way to Ashes Test, one-day and Twenty20 series victories.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Australian ODI captain George Bailey said his side would now focus on the 20-overs World Cup in March in Bangladesh, adding it is the one thing that counts in T20. It is necessary for Australia to play well as since the last T20 World Cup in 2012, it has not fielded there best side ever for which they are currently ranked sixth.
