New Delhi:Â The Gandhian Anna Hazare finds Mamata Banerjee the ideal Prime Minister India should have. So the septuagenarian has decided to campaign for her in the upcoming election.
Elated by this unexpected political windfall, Trinamool Congress is determined to come out of Bengal to become a pan-India party.
Mamata’s fortune will indeed spell misfortune for the rising star Arvind Kejriwal. Anna has stated unequivocally that he will not support Kejriwal.
“I had sent my 17 points to Arvind Kejriwal as well, but he never responded,” he said of the former Delhi Chief Minister.
Â
Anna was sharing a platform with the West Bengal Chief Minister at the Constitution Club on Wednesday. Anna emphasised his support is for Mamata, not her party. “I am supporting Didi not for her party but for her sentiments towards the nation. It’s for the first time I have found a politician like her,” said Anna.Â
Ever since he announced last week that he would campaign for Ms Banerjee, Mr Hazare has said her simplicity and austere way of life has impressed him. He reiterated that today and added, “I support her ideology. She has the ability to sacrifice. We have that in common.”
