Congress to move EC against Amit Shahs remark

Date:

New Delhi: Amit Shah’s intemperate exhortation to UP voters to “uproot mullah Mulayam’s governmen1t from Lucknow” has drawn flak from other political parties.

The Congress said it would complain to the Election Commission after a clip of Shah purportedly showed him saying this: “By voting for Modi, you will do two things. You will bring Modi in the Centre and you will uproot mullah Mulayam from Lucknow.”

The video was shot at a public meeting in Bijnor, a town adjacent to Muzaffarnagar, which saw communal clashes in September last year.

Amit Shah is in-charge of BJP’s election campaign in UP.

“Amit Shah is inciting communal tension in a sensitive area like Muzaffarnagar. What will BJP say about this? Is it not communal politics?” Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi.

However, BJP has defended Shah.
