The making of a Shudh Desi Sarkar  (pure Indian government) as India’s Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi described it has its foundations in a campaign for change that heralded into the biggest change in the Indian political history. This is the first government in the last thirty years which will see an absolute majority for a single party, BJP.  The landslide mandate given by the people of India is a mandate for change. A mandate for good governance to break away from rising inflation and crippling economy.  While promises of a new dawn by Modi earned an instant connect with the voters his campaign managers ensured a slick campaign that hit the right chord. In contrast , the Congress’s lack lustre campaign, a string of scams,  a reluctant bride groom, Rahul Gandhi who didn’t have any experience of governance decimated the grand old party to its worst drubbing ever.  I am the labourer number one, declared Modi  as he promised development for all.  This is what is going to be the catch phrase Modi.  In the next few months, he will have to ensure that the real good governance now trickles down in the politicial and bureaucratic aisles in New Delhi. The efficiency in public delivery happens and corruption is checked. India needs to be seen as more assertive in the global arena. More importantly it is a golden opportunity for Modi to steer the agenda for governance keeping at bay any pressure from regional satraps the nation has given him a verdict to do without the two mercurial ladies Mamata and Jaya, now is the time to put India on a new growth trajectory. India’s new Prime Minister designate made brand Modi the most popular brand in India, now is the time to make brand India, the most sought after brand in the world.
