Modi govt impresses Clinton

New Delhi: In an interview to a television channel, Bill Clinton said he was impressed by the Modi government and he was keenly watching the Modi phenomenon, especially his rise from the Chief Ministership of Gujarat. Clinton said, “I am impressed with Modi’s economic policies”.

On the Mideast situation, he said, “Hamas has strategy to force Israel to kill their civilians.”  Israel PM should hold a talk with Palestine to control the situation. “Israel PM should make comprehensive peace pact with Palestine.”

Clinton arrived at Jaipur on Monday as a part of his visit to the Asia/Pacific. On Wednesday the former president visited a kitchen run by an NGO in Jaipur which provides food to a large number of children at government schools as part of the mid-day meal scheme.

Clinton and his delegation were warmly received by the members of the NGO ‘Akshya Patra’ at their kitchen in Jaipur and later given a demonstration on how the food was prepared for thousands of school students and also served food to the school children.. He also visited a government school and interacted with the students, who welcomed him with a cultural presentation.

Clinton is also scheduled to visit Vietnam, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia to take stock of the work of the Clinton Foundation and deliver remarks at the 20th International AIDS Conference in Australia.
