Delhi: Special drive to check unauthorised parking

New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police will carry out a special drive on Wednesday during which unauthorisedly parked vehicles from roads and ‘No Parking’ areas will be towed away as part of “Swachchh Bharat Mission”.

“All traffic circles shall carry out the drive in their respective areas. A total of 82 teams of traffic police officers along with cranes shall patrol their areas to tow away and prosecute unauthorisedly parked vehicles on roads,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.

This intensive drive shall cover all arterial roads, commercial areas, market places such as Vikas Marg, Connaught Place, Aurobindo Marg, Kamla Nagar, Chandni Chowk, Asaf Ali Road, JLN Marg, Karol Bagh, South Extn., Sarojini Nagar, Jail Road, Najafgarh Road, Patel Road, Road No 41, Wazirpur Road, Azad Market, Mall Road, Central Market (Lajpat Nagar), Press Enclave Road etc.

All motorists are requested to desist from parking on roads and in “No Parking” areas to avoid towing away of their vehicles and prosecution. Road users are also requested to co-operate with traffic policemen in this national endeavour, he said.
