New Delhi: A huge protest was held in Delhi on Thursday over the series of attacks on churches in the national capital.
Shouting slogans for justice, agitators demanded immediate action against those responsible for the attacks. Police have detained few protestors for violation of Section 144 before elections. St. Alphonsa’s Church in Vasant Kunj was the latest church attacked in the capital on Monday.
Following the attack, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued notices to the Secretary, Union Home Ministry, Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi and the Commissioner of Police, Delhi calling for detailed reports including the status of investigation into allegations of desecration of the sanctity of the St. Alphonsa’s Church.
