Low intensity blast at Belur Math at Howrah

Kolkata: Tension prevailed at the Belur Ramrkishnan Mission at Belur Math, Howrah following a minor bomb explosion of a crude bomb on Friday.

According to reports, two crude bombs went off before the evening prayers around 5:30 pm. The blast occurred near the shoes rack of the worshipers outside the main temple.

The police said station fire fight sources got into work after the explosion. However, there was no casualty.

Investigation suggested it was a minor cracker blast but further investigation is on, police said.

Belur Math is the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, founded by Swami Vivekananda. It is located on the west bank of Hooghly River, Belur under the Bally police station area. This temple is the heart of the Ramakrishna Movement.
