PM Modi sends holy offering to Ajmer Sharif shrine

Date:

Ajmer: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi sent sacred sheet, or Chadar, to famous Ajmer Sharif shrine to mark Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chistis death anniversary.

Modi handed over the chadar through junior Minority Affairs Minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, in New Delhi. Naqvi presented the chadar, inscribed with religious verses, at the shrine on Wednesday.

The shrine is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Muslims in India. Earlier on Tuesday, Head of the shrine, Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, said although Modi was doing this as a part of tradition followed by his predecessors, it would definitely send positive message across the country.
