Pak Birthplace of ISIS says Pak author

Date:

Ahmedabad: Syria or Egypt are not the originators of the idea of Islamic State, said the Pakistan-born Canadian writer, broadcaster and
a secular and liberal activist, Tarek Fatah, on Saturday.

Fatah was speaking on the topic, ‘Pakistan: A birthplace of Islamic State (ISIS),’ organised by the RSS-promoted Bhartiya Vichar Manch. He is
the internationally acclaimed author of several books including, ‘Chasing a Mirage: The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State’.

“Pakistan is the real birthplace of the Islamic state terrorism and Pakistan army headquarters is the birthplace of ISIS. Muslim brotherhood, Taliban, ISIS are all different flavours of the same poisonous coco-cola which is Pakistan army. They do not have anything to do with Islam. They have made Islam a business,” said Fatah.

He further said: “India must be sympathetic to the people of Pakistan as they are innocent people like prisoners of war held by the generals of Pakistani army.”

Fatah further said that India without secularism will be a dead country. “India is the only country in the world where Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christians live together in peace. Pakistan is a one-religion country but there is no peace,” he said.

Giving the example of Pakistan and former East Pakistan which is now Bangladesh, Fatah said religion cannot keep people united. “East and West Pakistan (Bangladesh) had one religion but they could not stay together. India’s Constitution is the pivotal force which makes India what India is.

India is the only hope in the world for humanity,” said Fatah. He also appealed to India to help Baluchistan against the atrocities committed by Pakistanti authorities.
