Mumbai: After actress Shruti Seth’s tweet criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s #SelfieWithDaughter campaign, former Miss India and actress Neha Dhupia became the target of Twitterati after she posted a tweet criticising the Modi government on Tuesday.
As heavy rains brought life in Mumbai to a halt, Dhupia tweeted, “One rain n the city comes to a standstill. Good governance is not about selfies n makin us do yoga,it’s making sure ur citizens r safe.â€
With this Twitter post, which has been retweeted over 600 times till the time of the filing of this report, Dhupia slyly joined the string of actresses with her latest tirade criticising the recently launched campaign.Â
The actor also warned her fans of the terrible condition on the roads and told them not to step out until absolute necessary. However, in no time the actor gained the wrath of some Twitteratis for daring to tweet against the prime minister. Her tweet raised enough eyebrows to make her a trending topic on the site.
We have the right to criticise the government when we think they aren’t doing something. Surely that doesn’t warrant personal attacks like these?

“One more flop actress “Neha Dhupia” trying to gain attention by her no-so-much-needed opinion…,†said a post, reflecting the opinion of the majority.
Earlier, actress Shruti Seth was the brunt of similar jokes attacking her intelligence, and credibility as an actress, for targeting the PM’s #SelfieWithDaughter campaign to promote the cause of girl child in India.
Well! Fame or defame! Neha Dhupia surely garnered much limelight.
