Airfare war hots up as airlines flood market with offers

Date:

New Delhi: It seems it’s raining deals this monsoon. The airfare war among airlines rages on as they continue to flood the market with discounted airfares, vying for customers’ attention, in what is considered a lean season for flying.

After IndiGo announced its low-fare offer last week, every carrier has now joined the league.

SpiceJet on Tuesday announced yet another round of ticket discount for the monsoon season. Domestic airlines such as Jet Airways and IndiGo are also offering airfares starting at Rs 999 for the economy class as per media reports.

The SpiceJet limited period sale offers fares starting at Rs 999 (taxes and fees not included) for travel on direct (non-stop) flights on its domestic network.

The three day sale launched on Tuesday will be open till midnight of July 30, for travel period between August 4 and October 15 this year. Tickets under this offer are non-refundable (taxes and fees are refundable), though changes are permitted for Rs 2,000 plus fare difference, if any.

This sale is not available through the SpiceJet call centre or at our airport ticket offices.

There is limited inventory under the offer, and seats will be available on First-Come-First-Served basis. Sales fares are not applicable on group bookings.

Select examples of routes available at the starting fare of Rs 999 one-way plus taxes include – Bengaluru-Kochi, Delhi-Udaipur, Kolkata-Agartala, Pune-Goa, Amritsar-Srinagar, Hyderabad-Goa, Mumbai-Belgaum, Kolkata-Guwahati, Chennai-Vizag, and so on.
