Vyapam scam: CBI files fresh FIR against 64 people

Date:

New Delhi: The Vyapam case is perhaps heading towards a logical closure, as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a fresh FIR in connection with the scam in Madhya Pradesh.

At least 64 people believed to be involved in the alleged irregularities committed in the police constable recruitment examination conducted by Vyapam in 2013 have been listed in the FIR.

The fresh FIR, which is the 18th filed in this case, has been registered under charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy, and under the IT Act, Prevention of Corruption Act and the Madhya Pradesh Recognised Examination Act.

The Supreme Court had earlier asked the CBI to submit the entire schedule of investigation in cases related to the Vyapam scam by July 31.
