Joint Parliamentary Committee meet called over Land Bill

New Delhi: A Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting is scheduled to take place at 12:30 pm on Monday regarding the Land Acquisition Bill.

According to reports, three pending clauses, including one pertaining to compulsory return of the land to farmers if the land remains unutilised for five years, will be discussed in the meeting.

The government has been trying to end the deadlock in Parliament over the Land Acquisition Bill.

It is likely to either to come with a new ordinance on Land Acquisition based on the select panel report or to step back and allow the restoration of 2013 Law.
