Google’s new feature brings ‘fun facts’

Date:

Washington: Google’s rebranding campaign and newly designed logo have hit the headlines over recent days, polarizing opinion and provoking controversy.

But there are some other more subtle changes Google has made to its products that go beyond the artifice of design aesthetics, which modify the functionality of its primary service — the search engine.

Google has released a new feature on its search engine that presents the users with some random ‘fun facts’.

When the users type ‘fun facts’ or ‘I’m feeling curious’ into Google’s search engine, it will serve the users with a new type of answer box filled with a random tidbits from the millions of websites that Google can search.

The source of that particular information will be given below, followed by a blue bar with the option to ‘ask another question’.

When the users click on that they will be presented with yet another random piece of information, with the ‘I’m feeling curious’ query in the search field.

The purpose of Fun Facts is as the title suggests — to simply have some fun with facts, and in the process perhaps boost your general knowledge or even spark a new interest.
