Bollywood proud of Court’s selection as India’s Oscar entry

The selection of “Court” as India’s Oscars entry has been hailed by the industry with many calling it a great choice.

The debut film by Chaitanya Tamhane was the best picture winner at this year’s National film awards and garnered unanimous praise from the critics.

Director Hansal Mehta tweeted, “So pleased to know that the FFI committee has made its choice for India’s entry to Oscars. And for once they’ve chosen well! #Court.”

Actress Usha Jadhav congratulated the team of “Court” after the announcement.

Director Anubhav Sinha wrote, “Go Mr Tamhane. I hope you get the best marketing resources in the campaign. #Court #Oscars2016.”

Actor Ranvir Shorey said it was a well deserved honour.

“Congratulations @CourtTheFilm! India is finally sending the right film to the Oscar selections. Super.”

Lyricist-writer Varun Grover wrote, “Congratulations @CourtTheFilm! India is finally sending the right film to the Oscar selections. Superb!”

Actress Tillotama Shome wrote, “#Court for Oscars from India. Our best shot at the final shortlist in years. Great news!”

“India gets closest it has ever been to winning the Oscar and getting the lady home. #Court all the way baby! What a day. @CourtTheFilm,” wrote actor Gulshan Devaiah.
