#Murderforbeef: Kejriwal stopped from entering Dadri village

Date:

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, was stopped outside Bisada village when they went to visit Mohammad Ikhlaq’s family on Saturday. Ikhlaq was lynched by a mob on Monday night after rumours that he had consumed beef. Mr Kejriwal was accompanied by Aam Aadmi Party leaders Sanjay Singh Kumar Vishwas.

An uneasy calm was shattered with reports of violence in the village on Saturday morning. AAP party officials, who reached the village just hours after the incident, were not allowed to enter by local administration who reportedly cited law and order concerns. Kejriwal later tweeted that it was unfair to stop him.

AAP officials though were escorted to a guest house where party leader Ashutosh expressed his grief over the unfortunate incident.

On Monday night, 50-year-old Ikhlaq and his 22 year old son were allegedly dragged out of their home over rumours that he had consumed beef. While Ikhlaq was lynched to death, his son sustained serious injuries and is still critical. As many as ten villagers have been named as accused in the FIR.
