Pak violates ceasefire in Samba (J&K), two civilians injured

Jammu: Two civilians were reported injured as Pakistan in a fresh ceasefire violation targeted 14 Border Outposts (BoPs) and border hamlets in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday night at around 9 PM which lasted till 5 AM on Sunday morning.

Border Security Force retaliated heavily as 14 of their posts were targeted by the Pakistan troops.

“Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing on BSF posts along the IB in Samba sector from 2105 hours last night”, a BSF officer said on Sunday, adding BSF troops carried out effective retaliation with equal calibre weapons.

The Rangers fired on 14 BoPs of BSF along IB in areas in Samba sector, he said, adding that they used 82, 82 and 51 mm mortar bombs at few places along the IB.

Pakistan had earlier targeted nine BSF posts in Samba on Friday and the firing had lasted overnight till Saturday morning where a civilan was killed and six others were injured.
