5 comments which may have contributed to BJP’s Bihar rout

Bihar has spoken and overwhelmingly so. It wants Nitish Kumar to continue as Chief Minister, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) occupies the Opposition benches.

For BJP, this was a high stake election, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s own investment was apparent by the high number of election rallies he addressed. 10 Cabinet Ministers were asked to ensure that BJP wins the polls.

However, all that has come undone, as the party struggled to win even 100 seats. It is time for introspection and the party could do well by looking at the number of times its own leaders have shot themselves in the foot. Here is a useful list:
