Bengaluru join hands for ‘Save Whitefield’ campaign

Date:

Techies and IT professionals, who are working for various Indian and MNC tech firms, today launched #SaveWhitefield campaign, aimed at drawing the attention of the Congress government in Karnataka towards the plight of the IT hub Whitefield in Bengaluru.

From damaged roads, lack of cleanliness owing to open drains to a deteriorating quality of life, tolerance of those working and living in Whitefield has reached a tipping point more so as the government has done little to improve the situation around Bengaluru’s ITPL area.

On Monday morning, more than 5,000 techies from various firms turned up at important junctions in Marathahalli, Kundalahalli gate, Graphite India junction and EPIC zone to register their protest by holding placards. They also formed human chains. Senior representatives of the government are expected to meet them later in the day.
