Wi-fi & Digital Library for all J’khand Univ, polytechnic institutes

Campuses at all universities, BIT-Sindri and state polytechnic institutions in the state will soon be connected with Wi-Fi and Digital Library, Jharkhand government said today.

E-Books and e-Journals would be purchased and kept in the Central Server under the Digital Library initiative, making available for Kindle, iPads and Laptops, Education Minister Nira Yadav told a press conference here today.

Besides connecting Wi-Fi as part of higher and technical education in the campuses, she said, Letter of Intent have been given to Amity University, AISECT University, Karunya University, METAS SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST and PRAGYAN Foundation to impart quality education in the state.

The government has also decided to open colleges in 12 educationally backward districts of Garhwa, Kodarma, Chatra, Pakur, Palamau, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Gumla, Giridih, Deoghar, Godda, Dumka, Sahibganj, the minister said.

Private sector investment and JV initiatives in technical education would also be encouraged, she added.
