AAP MLA Kartar Singh raided by IT Dept. recovered 130 crores

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar was caught by the IT department on July 27 when Rs 130 crore worth documents showing unaccounted assets were seized from his premises. It was reported that IT dept raided dozen offices and residences of Tanwar, his brother Chattar Singh and his associates.

The AAP lawmaker earier belonged to BJP, but joined AAP when his seat was given to his relative from Chhatarpur. Kartar Singh claimed his records are clear and he has no wealth which is unaccounted. Tanwar’s business of construction is under IT dept scanner. The reports also mentioned that Tanwar holds many firms under which the alleged assets are scattered.

The AAP members said that the NDA government at Centre is involved in a “witch-hunt” against the party and its members. “This government does not work with vendetta,” MoS for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal told reporters on this issue.
