IAF rescues pregnant woman

Jammu, Aug 19 (PTI) Indian Air Force (IAF) today came tothe rescue of a pregnant woman as they airlifted her frommountainous Nawapachi belt of Kishtwar to Udhampur and lateradmitted her to a hospital. 28-year-old Samina Begum was in a critical condition dueto profuse bleeding when the district administration soughtthe help of the IAF, a district administration official said. "After receiving the message of the districtadministration, we flew a chopper to Nawapachi and airliftedher," an Udhampur-based defence spokesperson said. "She was flown in a Chetak helicopter. However, due to badweather the chopper could not make it to Jammu and landed atUdhampur IAF station. She was taken to IAF’s hospital inUdhampur where she is now admitted," he added. PTI AB CHT RGCHT
