Contractor held for bid to bribe

Ramanathapuram (TN), Aug 20 (PTI) A top district officialtoday caught a contractor red handed while allegedlyattempting to give a bribe of Rs 2,000 to a head clerk at hisoffice in Paramakudi in the district. Police said Paramakudi Sub-Collector G.S.Sameeran on asurprise visit to the office saw the contractor attempting togive bribe to the head clerk for getting some work done. He immediately informed police, who rushed and arrested thecontractor. PTI Corr SSNVS
