Cong condemns Pakistan for fomenting trouble in Kashmir

Jammu, Aug 27 (PTI) Congress today condemned Pakistan for"fomenting trouble" in Jammu and Kashmir and demanded"immediate measures" to end the current unrest in the valley. "Jammu Congress today held a meeting in which the partyleadership strongly condemned Pakistan for fomenting troubletaking advantage of the situation and demanded immediateeffective measures to end the current unrest in order todefeat the designs of inimical forces," a party spokesmansaid. "The party leaders expressed grave concern over the grimsituation in the valley, which is under curfew for the last 49days with unrest and incidents of violence continuingunabated," he added.     During the meeting, Congress complimented the people ofJammu "for rejecting all sorts of provocations" and"maintaining peace and religious harmony". The party also appealed to the people "to remainvigilant" and to not allow the "communal, divisive andanti-national forces" to take advantage of the currentsituation. So far 68 people have died in the protests in Kashmir thatbegan after Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani was killedin an encounter on July 8. PTI TSS AB DK CHTCHT
