Jain temple in Ujjain restrains entry of girls wearing jeans,

skirts Ujjain, Aug 28 (PTI) A Jain temple in Ujjain city todayrestrained girls aged eight years and above from entering thetemple in jeans, skirts and other western outfits. The decision was taken by Shwetambar Jain Samaj’sRishabhdev Temple, Chhagniram Pedi Trust members that girlsaged eight years and above should be asked not to wear westernoutfits like jeans, T-shirts, skirts and tops among others andshould wear Indian dresses only, Trust President MahendraSirolia told PTI. They were also provided with a ‘Chunri’ to cover theirheads once they enter inside the temple, he said. "The decision was taken as western outfits lower theprestige of the Jain temple. But there is no ban on anyonevisiting the temple in proper dress," he said, adding a noticewas also displayed in the religious place on the issuerequesting devotees to follow it. PTI COR MAS IKA RGIKA
