Five arrested for alleged cheating at MPSC exam

Aurangabad, Aug 30 (PTI) The cyber cell of city policehas arrested five persons for alleged cheating at anexamination conducted by the Maharashtra Public ServiceCommission. The city police commissioner Amitesh Kumar said thematter came to light with the complaint of resident medicalofficer Dr Vikas Rathod of the Government Medical College. Dr Rathod said that a clerk, Madan Bamnath, had borrowedhis laptop on August 26 for his daughter’s school project. When Bamnath returned it two days later, Dr Rathod foundphotos of question papers and answers on the laptop.Suspecting misuse of the laptop, Rathod approached the police. Police subsequently arrested Bamnath, his brother-in-lawSandip Dhansigh Gholwal (20) and Lakhan Devichand Dedval (20). Probe revealed that these three had supplied answers ofan MPSC question paper to Vitthal Dhansingh Gholwal (23) whenthe latter appeared for examination for tax assistant atWardha centre. Vitthal allegedly sent them a photograph of the questionpaper (from the exam centre) through his cell phone, and thetrio, with the help of one Arun Jonwal, dictated him answers. Vitthal used a bluetooth speaker to listen to theanswers. Police arrested all five and a case has been registeredat the Begumpura police station here.
