Thane, Aug 31 (PTI) Historian and educationist DawoodDalvi died of protracted illness at his house here today. He was 83. Apart from being the principal of Dnyansadhna Collegehere, he also served as the president of Konkan ItihasParishad, which carried out research on the history of thedistrict. He was instrumental in making of documentary "AseGhadle Thane". Dalvi has written several books on the history of thedistrict and was specialised in the study of caves in thedistrict and as well as in Maharashtra. He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters. His funeral will start from his house tomorrow morningfrom Dhobi Ali locality. PTI CORRNSK
