Delhi govt affects transfer, posting of 25 DANICS officers

New Delhi, Sep 2 (PTI) In a major bureaucratic reshuffle,the Delhi government today transferred and posted 25 DANICSofficers with immediate effect. Most of the transfers and postings orders have beenissued after Lt Governor Najeeb Jung’s approval, an orderissued by the services department said. Eighteen DANICS officers awaiting their postings havebeen given new assignments. The move comes days after the LG had been notified as’Approving Authority’ for transfers and postings following theHigh Court order on August 4 which had stamped the primacy ofthe Lt Governor in the city administration. Among the Delhi, Andaman Nicobar Island Civil Service(DANICS) officers who have been transferred are SpecialSecretary (Urban Development) S S Kanawat, Special Secretary(Services) Amarnath R Talwade. Kanawat has been made Controller (DSSSB ) and TalwadeSpecial Secretary (UD). Earlier this week, the LG had been notified as the’Approving Authority’ for transfers and postings of differentcategory of employees, including IAS and DANICS officersworking with the Delhi government. The Lt Governor will be the authority for transfers andpostings of IAS, DANICS officers, all-India service officersand equivalent officers of central civil services. The order had also said the Chief Secretary will be the’Approving Authority’ for transfers and postings of DASS GradeI/II officials, private secretaries and senior personalassistants.
